Oriental Salad Dressing Recipe

oriental salad dressing What you put into your oriental salad dressing recipe can make all the difference to the final salad itself. We have two recipes for you to choose from : one made with ginger and a little sherry, and the other made with garlic and mustard. Both are dishes I personally love.

A salad to accompany your oriental salad dressing can be made up of anything you choose : from a little shredded lettuce to fruits such as pineapple, mangos and pineapples.
Nuts make any salad that little bit more interesting, adding a crunchy texture. Be careful with the nuts if you have guests coming as many people have an allergy towards them.

Oil and liquid don't mix so it's a good idea to have a medium sized glass bottle or jar with a screw lid handy so you can give your dressing a good shake immediately before serving. You will notice, if the dressing is allowed to sit even for a short while, that the liquid and oil will separate. This is normal and nothing to worry about.

Salad Dressing with Ginger

  • 1tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 2tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1tbsp of sherry
  • black pepper
Chop the root ginger into small pieces. Add all the ingredients together in a glass jar with a lid so you can give it a good shake.

Salad Dressing with Garlic

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1tsp of mustard
  • black pepper
Crush the garlic cloves. Mix all the ingredients together in a glass jar with a lid so you can give it a good shake. Your oriental salad dressing recipe will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Oriental Hot Salad

This is our suggestion to use with our salad dressing with Ginger.
  • 250g egg noodles
  • 3 onions chopped
  • 25g chopped peanuts
Cook the egg noodles with a little salt in boiling water. When the noodles have cooked, add to them the chopped onions and peanuts. Pour the Salad Dressing with Ginger over the salad and serve.
