Easy Recipes For Kids

Mini Pizzas

Serves 4

You will need:
a cup for measuring
a can opener
a tablespoon
a cutting knife
a large cookie cutter
a baking tray
a plate
  • 2 sheets frozen shortcrust pastry
  • 3 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 2 slices ham
  • 225g can pineapple chunks
  • 4 medium mushrooms
  • 1 cabanossi, sliced
  • 2 cups of grated cheese
Take the pastry out of the freezer and allow to thaw for 30 minutes.
Put the oven on before you start at 180C 350F.

Slice your mushrooms.
After the pastry has thawed a little, take the cookie cutter and cut out circles.
Place the circles on to the baking tray.

Spread tomato puree onto each circle.
Top the puree with mushrooms, pineapple, ham and cabanossi.
Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.

Place the baking tray into the oven and cook for 15-20 minutes.
After cooking remember to use oven mitts to remove the pizzas.

Banana Milkshake

This recipe is a nourishing way to start the day and a very easy recipe for kids to make on their own.

Serves 2

You will need:
a blender
2 tall glasses
cup for measuring
a tablespoon
a teaspoon
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons instant milk powder
  • 1 carton of banana yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons of wheat germ
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 4 ice cubes
Peel the banana and cut it into chunks.
Put the banana chunks and all the other ingredients into the blender.
Remember to put the lid on the blender.
Switch on the power.
Blend for 1 minute.

Pour into 2 tall glasses

Celery Boat

This makes a wonderful snack for hungry children and another easy recipe for kids to make themselves.

Serves 4

You will need:
a cutting knife
a small bowl
a mixing Bowl
a tablespoon
a teaspoon
a plate
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • Ĺ cup of cottage cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon cheese spread
Cut the celery into pieces as long as your middle finger.
Put them onto a small bowl.
Place the celery into the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Mix the cottage cheese, chopped onion and cheese spread in a mixing bowl.
Take the celery out of the refrigerator.
Spoon a little of the cheese mix onto each piece of celery.

Put back into the refrigerator until you are ready to eat them.

Greek Salad

You will need:
a cutting knife
a cup for measuring
a tablespoon
two mixing bowls
a dish to serve
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 cup of feta cheese
  • 12 black olives
  • pepper
  • the dressing
  • 1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
Slice the tomatoes into quarters.
Slice the cucumber.
Slice the onion.
Cut the feta cheese into chunks.

Place the ingredients into a bowl.

Make the dressing.

Pour into your second bowl, the vinegar and oil, and give it a stir.

Pour the dressing on to the salad.

Place the finished Greek Salad onto a serving dish.
