By eating raw fruit you get all the lovely vitamins and minerals in the fruit that you don't get once they are cooked. Not only will you be getting vitamins and minerals but you will be giving your body vital enzymes without which it couldn't work.

Enzymes

What's an enzyme? An enzyme is vital to our bodies : in fact without them we would not survive, indeed no animal or plant can live without the help of enzymes. They allow millions of chemical reactions to occur in your body every day. Think of them as the supervisor who kicks butts! Without their help our cells would generate lots and lots of heat to perform an action; in fact our bodies would get so hot it would kill us. Sadly we kill enzymes by cooking them, therefore by eating raw fruit and vegetables you really will feel the benefit of all those enzymes.

An All Year Round Dessert

When you think of fruit salad recipes then you think of summer. But fruit is great to eat at any time of year so please don't restrict this dessert to only when the weather is warm.

Watching Your Weight

Ice cream is great with a fruit salad, but if you are watching your weight then some natural yogurt is just as delicious. Of course fruit is so tasty it doesn't require either ice cream or yogurt, as it's just as delicious on its own.
