I come from a family who are very good at cooking although they are also very modest and would never admit to it.
My mum is an especially good baker: she can make a lemon sponge cake to die for, and I have followed in her footsteps, except my forte is banana cake.
There is nothing I like more than to go into the kitchen with my little grand-daughter to cook or bake. Children just love to create and what could be better than making something nice to eat? But wait, it could be better if it is also something healthy: something with fruit and vegetables.
As well as having an interest in cooking and baking, I also have an interest in health.
I used to be a beauty therapist and quickly realised early on in my career that beauty wasn't just about what you put on your skin on the outside - what you put into your body was even more important.
Few of us eat enough fruit and vegetables, so it occurred to me that easy recipes made from ones favourites would make eating them a whole lot easier.
Some of the recipes have come from old cut outs and handwritten recipe books that my mum has had on her kitchen shelf for years. Others have come from family and friends.
